The Imaging Products Laboratory (IPL) was established to develop, evaluate and apply cost-effective,
innovative technologies for the imaging industry. It transfers the benefits of ongoing research and
development to its clients through a collection of analysis, evaluation, and industry outreach services.
From its development, IPL has grown in response to industry needs. For the past several
years IPL has provided evaluations of remanufactured products, such as remanufactured toner cartridges,
using ASTM and other industry-approved standards. In addition, IPL has expanded its resources
to include state-of-the-art tools and equipment for use in the printing and cartridge remanufacturing industries. For its development of the Wiper Blade Edge Analyzer, a device used in the remanufacture of printer wiper blades, IPL received the 2004 New York State Enviironmental Excellence Award.
IPL has also assisted the imaging industry with various forms of operational assistance such as site
assessments to improve business operations and efficiency. Further information about this service can
