Certification
  • The Certification for the Imaging Professional (CIP) program provides educational development to imaging industry professionals.
  • Courses range from an overview of industry topics to in-depth technical training.

  • CIP Levels and Courses
    • CIP provides educational development to imaging industry professionals.
    • The program is offered in three levels.
    • Courses, typically one to two days, are led by qualified instructors.
    • Certification for each level is awarded subject to the successful completion of four courses from that level. Programs are offered in public forums as well as on-site by request.
  • CIP LEVEL ONE
    • ...is a comprehensive overview of key imaging product fundamentals.
    • Courses focus on product architecture, electrophotography basics, and basic image quality evaluation.
    • It is a complete program for professionals who require a fundamental imaging education.
    • Level I Courses: Laser Printer Fundamentals, Manufacturing Basics, Electrophotography, Inkjet Technology, Image Quality Basics
  • CIP LEVEL TWO
    • ...expands on the topics introduced in Level One.
    • Those completing this level will have a thorough understanding of the theory and design of imaging device components, manufacturing quality tools, standard test methods and image quality evaluation techniques.
    • This training is geared toward operational managers, professionals, and technicians.
    • Level II Courses: Component Evaluation, Using Image Quality to Troubleshoot Systems, ASTM Standard Testing, Quality Assurance Concepts, Inkjet Image Quality Issues
  • CIP LEVEL THREE
    • ...is the highest distinction of the CIP program.
    • Advanced topics such as toner properties, experiment design, advanced image quality evaluation and color science are covered.
    • This level is intended for specialists who wish to enhance their effectiveness by availing themselves of the most advanced technology and techniques.
    • Level III Courses: Design of Experiments, Toner Properties, Advanced Quality Concepts, Packaging Technology, Color Technology, Printer Architecture and Failure Modes

  • IPL's Training

    IPL frequently conducts train-the-trainer seminars in toner cartridge remanufacturing training for the Standardized Test Method Committee. Standards trained for include ISTA 1A: Package Integrity Test Method Standard, ASTM F 1856: Toner Usage Standard, ASTM F 2036: Density/Background Standard, and ANSI IT 2.17-1995: Density Standard.
